A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I breathe sports.
Ever since I accompanied my mother, who was a professional volleyball player when I was a wee boy, on every training and event, I have been hooked. The chatter in the locker room, the excitement in the air, the sound of balls bouncing on the ground, I knew this was it. This must be happiness.
Then life took me somewhere else. I had to choose between a career in sports or in business.
I choose the latter. I travelled, lived in Canada, Sweden, the UK & Austria. I worked with many different companies and people. Sports never left my side, though, I discovered all the local gyms, sports clubs (the best one I found is in Barcelona!) and went for early morning runs in all the neighbourhoods I have lived in.
Over the years, I developed a longing for deeper knowledge when it came to movement, nutrition and lifestyle. I started experimenting with different modalities and diets to fit both my lifestyle, my health needs and my goals. I went from a vegan to omnivore, from isolated exercises to calisthenics and from barely keeping up with rest days to yearly sabbaticals from any type of active workout.
I feel like I am just getting started.
From growing up around sports to being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 18, everything in my life lead me to sports. Movement. Nutrition. Rest. Then in my late twenties, I connected the dots and started reading books on holistic healing. The path ultimately lead me to Paul Check and there was no turning back.
I became a certified Holistic Health Coach through the Level 1 & 2 Check Institute. I have never been this excited to start using what I have learned in my life. Obviously, I started with myself. Which lead me to the ultimate truth that I strive to live by ever since:
Life is so much more than just managing a condition, gym sessions and biomarkers, etc. Focusing on those is important but I got lost one too many times in the numbers and controlling them and I forgot the other side of the equation: letting go, enjoying life, trusting nature. Breathing. Resting. Joy. Love. For oneself and for everyone else.
THE BASICS
How I am training now
I recently adopted crossfit, so I have been blending my 108 sun salutations at dawn with some calisthenics and kettlebell swings.
Current favourite snack
Shredded coconuts, organic mozzarella and organic Greek yoghurt with blueberries.
Best way to wind down
A bike ride, cold plunge in a river, a sauna session, a good book, time with my family and dog, a long hike without my phone (preferably barefoot).
